This One If By Land exclusive visits the heart of the Hasidic Community in Brooklyn. See the “Million Dollar” Mikvah, observe a minyan, a Russian matzoh factory (when baking), visit a Lubovich leader’s private library and see rare artifacts. Lunch is included.

This tour focuses on New York City as a television and film center. In the morning we visit the Museum of television and Radio, where we choose a topic or specific star, and take a film/video journey in the viewing room. Lunch is at a theme restaurant such as Bubba Gump Shrimp Company or ESPN Zone. After lunch, we are joined by a specialist who takes us to neighborhoods and sites from famous television shows or motion pictures.

History and architecture come alive on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Visit Grant’s Tomb National Memorial. See the Dyckman House (18th century Dutch farmhouse). Visit Riverside Church to see the world’s largest Carillon Bells and the tower observation deck. Finally, stop at the Cloisters – Manhattan’s finest collection of medieval art treasures. This day begins with our guided tour of Ellis Island. Then you follow the immigrants off the island to their ethnic neighborhood where we combine highlights of our New York Mosaic tour. Lunch included.

This new tour focuses on the post 9/11 Lower Manhattan. Our tour begins with a ride through the Canyon of Heroes to Bowling Green. We enter the Standard Oil Building to “Tribute”. One of the newest attractions in the Big Apple, Tribute celebrates the greatness of New York. Exhibits include a memorial to 9/11, a timeline of New York’s recorded history, a feature on special workers in New York, and the multi-media feature “Remember”. After Tribute , we visit Battery Park and the “sphere” which survived the World Trade Center attack. After a luncheon in Lower Manhattan, we visit “ground zero” to pay tribute to those lost during the attack, and to celebrate the re-birth.

This traditional tour begins with a ferry ride to Liberty Island. Visit the Statue of Liberty. Then back aboard to Ellis Island for an exclusive One If By Land guided tour. Lunch included after the tour.

Visit three major ethnic areas in lower Manhattan: Little Italy; the Jewish Lower East Side; and Chinatown. Walking tour highlights include Ferrara’s, Yonah Shimmel’s, Schapiro’s Winery, First Rumanian Shul where famous opera stars began, and St. Anthony’s Shrine. Enjoy lunch in a Chinese family-style restaurant or Italian restaurant.

Visit the Jewish Museum with its collections dating back to biblical times. Then visit Temple Emanu-El, the oldest reform congregation in New York. End the day with a visit to the Jewish Studies Center at Yeshiva University. Lunch at a kosher or kosher-style restaurant is included.

The 42nd Street area changes daily! We focus on the major renovations and additions to the area. First, we are guided through Grand Central Station by a specialist who takes use behind the scenes while telling the story of Grand Central Station. We have lunch at a Times Square Restaurant. After lunch, we visit Madame Tussaud’s for an up close and personal look at the stars. A tour of the New Amsterdam Theatre (Lion King) may be substituted.
