Learn how ice cream is made, sit in the milk truck, milk a mechanical cow and learn about the people and culture of Turkey Hill in nine interactive exhibit areas totaling 26,000 square feet. Exhibits also feature Lancaster County cultural highlights, including some history of the lower Susquehanna River Valley and the rural farming area surrounding Turkey Hill Dairy.
Visit the “plain people” in Pennsylvania Dutch Country. We have revised the tour to show the contrast of the life of the “plain people” to the successful agri-business of Kreider farms. Our coach actually drives through the cow palace. We see the cow carousel, and a high-tech dairy. After lunch, we visit the farmlands and attractions of the Amish Country. Lunch or early dinner can be at either Krieder Farms or at Plain & Fancy. For those only interested in one of the tours, we can view “Jacob's Choice” at the Amish Experience Theatre. For those looking for the “traditional” Amish Experience , we can eliminate Kredier farms and concentrate on the Amish homestead and farmlands.
