It was exciting to return to my teaching roots this morning at Johnson & Wales University's Hospitality College here in Charlotte. The students were eager to learn about the advantages of group travel in preparation for their tour to Italy. Hopefully they will invite me back again someday!

This morning we have made yet another jump into the vast array of new technology! What is a QR Code? Basically, its a square barcode that can be scanned by a smartphone.  We have created our first QR Code and are VERY excited about all of the possible applications for them.

"Dickens Festival Tour"

Dickens Festival in Port Jefferson,  Long Island.  What a wonderful  way to start the Christmas season. The whole village was filled with costumed Dickens characters.  The little shops were decorated for the Christmas spirit.
 

The show. Christmas Carol, was wonderful.  Before the show we had a wonderful dinner at Pasta-Pasta. Rocky said it was one of the best Penne a la vodka ever .Coming from him it’s quite a complement. Rocky and I have traveled with OIBL for more than twenty years and plan to for many more! GREAT JOB STUART

Just a short note to say a special thank you from my gang. They all enjoyed the show and Heartland Brewery was great. It was funny we all had the salmon and the mashed sweet potatoes were good. No gridlock as they had predicted at least not what we could see and thanks again.

Today is a great day at One If By Land Tours. Carolina blue skies and temperatures around 60. I started my day with several calls raving about yesterday’s Broadway tour. In spite of the Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center, and President Obama visiting the Big Apple, our tour went flawlessly. The Heartland Brewery was a big hit again. This was our fifth event there and each time it gets better. Every time I want to change the restaurant our club members yell at me.

 

Jersey Boys was fabulous. It really is a “must see” show even if you are not a big Four Seasons fan. Our next Broadway show is “Follies” in January.

 

Also, today we launched our new website. How do you like it? This is an in-house production created by Gayle. It is dynamic, user friendly, and flexible enough to update it daily. We encourage you to visit it often, send us comments and suggestions.

 

Saturday is our “Dickens Christmas” tour in Port Jefferson. If not sooner, I will blog after that event.
